Boy or Girl???

This is what the OWT Chinese Gender Predictor said for Gabe....

This is what is says for this little bean:

It says it's 75% correct...my thinking is it's probably 50% right... since it's a 50/50 chance. Ahh well, I can only hope right? I would love to have a little girl. I want that bond that I have with my mother. But another little boy would be just as great. Gabe's awesome, and two of him would just be a riot!

Regardless I won't find out until the end of November to the beginning of December. Boo, I know. It's ages away.

I guess it can't get clearer than that!

So when I took the HPT (First Response Early Result) a line came up, but it wasn't as dark as the one I took with Gabe was. I was around 5-6 weeks pregnant with Gabe when I took the test, so of course it was going to be a lot darker than the one I took a few days ago at a 3w6d. Both tests I used FMU (first urine of the day). Here are the first tests I took. The top one was was when I was 9dpo and the bottom is 11dpo (dpo=days post ovulation, aka, when sperm met egg). Sorry it's kinda blurry....but a line is a line...

So today we went to Wal-mart and along with the baby's first outfit, we got digital pregnancy test. I came back to work, and took it. And imagine what popped up....

So I went and showed Josh and I think he feels its more real. It made it more real for me anyways

Weekly Check-In: 4 Weeks

Stats:

How far along:
5 weeks

How big is baby:

In week 4, now safe in your womb, the ball of cells (blastocyst) splits in two, becoming the embryo and the placenta. The amniotic sac and fluid are forming around baby, and will act as a cushion for the next eight months.

Total weight gain:
So far 0lbs. But I'm sure that won't last for long! I'm hoping to just gain 15 lb.

Maternity clothes?
Nope, not yet... but I was in them around 9 weeks last time, so hopefully 7ish weeks this time. I love maternity clothes :)

Belly button in or out?
In

Sleep:
I'm tired constantly now. Usually I will stay up with Josh until about 2-3 am after Roo goes to bed but the past few nights it's been about 11:30pm right after Roo goes down. So I'm getting about 12 hours of sleep a night.

Best moment of the week:
Getting a positive pregnancy test :)

Food cravings:
Salads just like last time I was in first tri :)

Food aversions:
Meat... again, and as usual. Chicken the other day really wanted to make me vomit.

Symptoms:
Gas (yeah I know, but its the truth), Nausea/Vomiting (aka Morning Sickness--which I DIDNT have with Roo), Sore BB's, and headaches. *That seems like a lot for just being 4 weeks

Movement:
Not even close!

Gender:
Hoping for a girl :) But a boy would be okay too. I have a feeling its a girl...just like when I had Gabe. But maybe it's just the desire, haha

What I'm looking forward to:

Listening to it's heartbeat so I know it's okay. I hate this part of pregnancy when I have no clue whats going on in there.

What I miss:
Not feeling nauseous all.the.time.

Milestones:
Being Pregnant!

Next appointment:
September 9th @ 8:50am. My confirmation appt. I'm gonna see if doc will draw HcG levels for me, so I can know the levels.

Exciting News!!!

Yesterday I took a pregnancy test as soon as I got up. Two days ago it had been negative, so my thought process was that it would be negative again. My cycles are usually 30 days long, and I was only 11dpo, so day 28 of my cycle. I hadn't even missed my period yet. And there is was.... two beautiful lines. I was shaking. I was happy. I was ECSTATIC! Gabe is going to be a big brother! Josh, as usual, got really nervous. He still can't believe it. He's excited, but until we see the doctor, I don't think it will set it (which is how it was last time). We go see him for our first appt. on Friday, Sept. 9th at 8:50am, for a confirmation test and to set up my OB workup. It's so surreal. I mean, I feel pregnant. And it already feels different. I'm queasy. I didn't have MS with Gabe. So maybe it's an early sign for a girl :)....I am exactly 4 weeks today, and it's due date is May 16, 2012 (talk about timing...Gabe gets a brother or sister for his birthday) Okay so here are it's stats:

In week 4, now safe in your womb, the ball of cells (blastocyst) splits in two, becoming the embryo and the placenta. The amniotic sac and fluid are forming around baby, and will act as a cushion for the next eight months.

Yep that's pretty much it. Haha, not much going on this week.

15 Month Stats

This big boy above is 15 months old today! Where has the time gone? Doesn't seem like this is the same boy I was cradling in my arms just a year ago.

He went to his well-child check-up today. Here are his 15 month Stats:

Weight: 30lb 4 oz (over 100th percentile)
Height: 32 1/2 inches (88th percentile)
Head: 19 inches (80th percentile)

Doc thinks he's doing great! He stood on the big boy scale and got measured with the big boy height measurement against the wall. When the nurse came in to give him his shots, she took the cap off the needle and he saw it and hit the nurse. Haha, that's my boy. I ended up having to hold his arms down because he was going to do whatever he could to not get jabbed. But he did well. He cried a tiny bit then was fine as can be after those spongebob bandaids went on. He waved bye bye to the nurse over and over again...and we were out the door!

Words he Says: mama, dada, dog, look, hi or hiya, bye, no, door, what, ow, gaga (grandma I'm assuming because he says it when he hears my mom talking)

Things he can do: Loves to dance, drum, waves hi and bye, gives high fives, plays like an indian (saying "ahhhh" while drumming his palm against his mouth), points, claps, among many other things...I'm sure.

Unfortunates: He can throw the biggest baddest tantrum I've ever seen. And he's very stubborn. He will throw a tantrum for 10 minutes, if necessary. Also if you tell him no, take him away from the situation, smack his hand or bottom (not too hard, of course)....it doesn't work. He will go back over and over and over and over again. He'll even be quivering his lip or whining from the discpline he just received, and still do it again. He doesn't care. He is very, very stubborn. But most of that attitude, although I hate to say it, comes from me. I guess he does have SOME part of me since it seems, look wise, he is all of his daddy.

Back to Reality....

Image and video hosting by TinyPicToday we came home from our nine day vacation. I worked overtime on nightshift. Not a fun way to end vacation. But I have many stories to tell about, and it'll definitely have to be broken up into a few posts.

The jist:
30th: Drove to Josh's parent's house after work (got there at 3am)
31st: Swam in the pool, lounged, Ate Pizza & Cheesecake for Josh's 27th Birthday
1st: Omaha Zoo
2nd: Swam
3rd: Swam
4th: Drove from Josh's Parent's to My Parent's (7 hours of driving--not including stops, so more like 8 hours)
5th: Took Gabe to clinic for ear infection, just 12 days after the stop of his last antibiotic...yay for ear   infections.NOT. Drove to Houston, MO to the cabin we stayed at for our annual family float trip.
6th: Gabe's first float trip--5 miles
7th: Drove Back to my parent's house
8th: Drove home....came in to work night shift.

It was a busy, fun vacation BUT we are glad to be home. Only 1 month & 1 week left until our "I Do's" and so much to get done. It'll be nice to have a few days to just ourselves. Being able to do what we want to do, and not worry about anyone else.

A post will soon follow about Gabe's first trip to the Zoo. Stay tuned!

I have the worst luck....

Image and video hosting by TinyPicI'll start by saying that technology absolutely hates me. And if you think I'm joking, well, I'm not. I swear I need to keep 15 thousand back ups of any type of picture, video, document, etc. And that may not even be enough.

A few months ago, I got an e-mail from UPS. Yes, it was in the spam folder, but I was expecting a package, so I figured it went there by accident. The e-mail states that my package has been sent out and will be delivered in 3 days (which is what the person had told me to expect). It then said to "click here" for the tracking number. So I did. And vola!.....bye bye pictures, videos, documents, etc.

I had two people recover MOST of my pictures of Gabe's ultrasounds, my belly pics, and ALL of the pictures I've taken of him from birth to his birthday party. As well as pictures of Josh & I, Wiggles, family and other random things that mean stuff to us. The documents were also recovered. The videos....not so much. Gabe's birth video, his first nursing assessment video, first Christmas, first crawling, first walking... you get the jist. All gone. And they still are. I have them, but they are corrupt. Unplayable. I plan on talking to a computer whiz, and hopefully they can recover them, at probably a very high cost. But what's 300+ dollars actually worth when it comes to getting those memories back? A penny to me.

Fast forward to today. I keep everything saved to an external hard drive. The same external hard drive that Josh tries to plug into the computer and doesn't turn on. {enter panic mode}. I call my friend, whos pretty much a genius when it comes to computers. Apparently, the USB port that plugs into the silly thing, is messed up. Yay.... So I go and buy an identical one for 70 bucks. We He takes them apart, and switches out the USB adapters, put them back together...and vola! It works... thankfully.

So now, I also need to make DVD copies of ALL my pictures, as well as download them to a site that will hold them.

Told you, technology hates me.

Being a Mother..

I stole this from another a friends blog, but I had to share...and it's so true!

To be a mother you must be a chef, house keeper, judge, jury, comedian, entertainer, singer, doctor, hair stylist,

personal assistant, secretary, teacher, friend, boss, and the list goes on.
Its a full time job, no sick days, days off, or paid vacation. You do not get an hourly wage or an annual salary.
Your day starts when you wake up and ends when you lay down, and sometimes you get called in for overtime

in the middle of the night. Not that you get paid extra for it though.
Tell you what though… It’s the best job I ever had!

Oh the funny things you do!

Gabe has been coming up with all sorts of funny things this week. Every day it's something new!

Monday: Sippy's start, bottles are washed and put away forever.

Tuesday: We pick him up from daycare and as I'm carrying him to the car, he starts waving and saying "hi-ya". He does this all the way home. When we get home he starts to RUN up to us, waves and says "Hi-ya" then runs off laughing. He will do this over and over and over again until put to bed.

Wednesday: He starts saying "bye"... Yay for new words!

Thursday: He walks around with his hat saying "it's daddys!" then laughing. I think its his way of telling a joke? I'm not sure. He's slightly obsessed with Josh's hat. I'm thinking its time to get him a tapout hat as well.

He goes and looks in the mirror, and says "its daddy, hi-ya daddy". Wow, okay.... Yes, child you are a complete replica of your daddy, and look identical to him. Glad you figured that out, haha.

Wonder what the end of the week will bring. Oh and vaca starts Saturday night :) Can I get a whoot whoot? No, okay well at least I tried.

Bye Bye Bottles!!!!

Whelp, it’s official! Gabe has gone almost 24 hours without a bottle. Can I get a whoot whoot? Okay so this momma is a bit excited. But I have a stubborn child, and he wasn’t going to get rid of those bottles any time before this, to say the least.

Update on ENT appointment...

Gabe went to the ENT specialist. Verdict: surgery. But not what we went there for. They won't do surgery on the frenulum connecting his upper lip to his gums because it could mess up how his adult teeth grow in. the specialist also said it won't cause problems with his speech, like we thought it may. He will need to see a pediatric dentist to determine if it will need to eventually be cut after his adult teeth come in. But he has to get his tongue snipped, because he is "tongue-tied" (Ankyloglossia) as well as an adenoidectomy & possible tonsilectomy due to the adenoids being 5x larger than normal and tonsils 2x larger than normal (but they aren't infected). He said the reason why he also keeps his mouth open is because the adenoids are so large it blocks off his airway to his nose. He also said the reason why he has trouble eating "normal" food (anything that's not easily dissolved or purees) and usually spits it out, because he isn't able to swallow it. He also has had fluid in his ears since he went to the the doctor 3 weeks ago for that high fever, but the ANP told us it wasn't an ear infection...and apparently it was. So he was put on antibiotics, and has a re-eval in 2 months to see if the fluid is still behind his ears. If it is then he will also get tubes in his ears along with the adenoidectomy (possible tonsilectomy) and getting his tongue-tie snipped.

It's been awhile...

a very long while.

Gabe turned 14 months on Monday.... where did that time go? It's already been two months since his birthday. Why does time go by so slow when your wanting to grow up fast, yet so fast when your wanting it to slow down. It doesn't make any sense... and I don't like it one bit.

Today, Gabe is going to see a ENT specialist. He has a high palate and a labial frenulum. Basically, he has a piece of tissue that connects his upper lip to his upper gums. This can cause problems such as latching on (in infancy--he had a HUGE problem with this) and speaking. It's about a 1/4 of an inch wide and attaching in between his two front teeth.

At this consult we will find out if he will need to have surgery to fix it or not. I know it'll be outpatient. It'll be quick. But it still scares me. He'll be put under with anesthesia, which scares me even more. He'll have stitches, at only 1 year old. And that makes me sad. But we'll get through it, as always.

In other news, Gabe is pretty much the funniest kid I know. He loves to make you bust up laughing, and will do the silliest things to make you laugh. And once you laugh, then he starts laughing his butt off too. He's quite the comedian. He's also quite the drummer and dancer as well. He seems to be good at many things. It seems like every day he comes up with a new dance move. He thinks Disco Mickey is a hoot, and will laugh his butt off while dancing with him.

These past few months his personality has really shown through. He is great at temper tantrums, but they are quickly over when I start laughing about them and he joins in the laughter. He is great at cuddling when I need a hug. And he's amazing at entertainment. He's a lovable little boy, that has stole our hearts completely.

He thinks little newborns at adorable and will "pet" their legs or arms, and try to make them make "indian" noises with his hand and their mouths. He thinks newborn puppies are funny and will laugh hysterically at them. He thinks grass is the best stuff to walk in and still can't figure out why it "feels" the way it does, it seems to amaze him everytime.

He has now started throwing Wiggles' toys for him to fetch, and then chases poor Wiggles around the house, all the while laughing hysterically while Wiggles' runs for his life. He also thinks its funny to put on and take off baseball hats repeatedly. He won't keep them on longer then a few seconds, but he will do it 100x in a row.

His language is quite garbled right now, but it sounds like he can say I love you, Hi, Bye, Dog, No, Mama, Baba, Daddy, What, Huh, Uh oh.

I'll update as soon as I know more after his consult tomorrow. Otherwise, he is a great, happy, healthy, and amazing toddler!
