Weekly Check-In: 20 Weeks/5 Months!!!

Baby's digestive system is busy creating meconium (a tarry black substance made of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretion and dead cells), which will fill the first diaper after birth. And, speaking of the diaper situation... baby's genitals are now fully formed!
Stats:

How far along:
20 weeks
How big is baby: Cantaloupe

Total weight gain:
8.5lbs
Maternity clothes?
Yep!
Belly button in or out?
upper half is out, lower half is in, but shallow...
Sleep:
Everyday changes. I rarely can sleep in though, even with Gabe does....it's like an automatic timers goes off and I'm awake for the rest of the day.
Best moment this week:
Christmas, feeling Kellie move lots more!
Food cravings:
Milk, fruit, ice cream
Food aversions:
Onions, fried foods, meat, Carbonation
Symptoms:
backaches are starting, stuffy nose--ugh...this is the one that actually wakes me up most, my boobs are getting larger AGAIN. And the nips are getting very sensitive..which is making me think that I'm gonna start leaking soon.
Movement:
Starting to feel a lot more, at least 2-3 good kicks a day. Otherwise, I just feel pressure like she's pushing against my abdomen with her feet or something. I can't wait until I get to feel lots more....damn you anterior placenta!
Gender:
GIRL!!! Miss Kellie Rain is on her way!
What I'm looking forward to:
Viability Day!
What I miss:
Not feeling so fat, being able to sleep better, and not feeling so worn out and lazy.
Milestones:
Hearing the heartbeat, feeling movement, getting to 5 months. She'll be he soon!
Next appointment:
January 16th @ 12:20pm--I'll be 22w5d. AHHH so close to viability

I think I found the perfect one....

Carseat cover that is....

As you can see it's pretty much the most cute and adorable, plus snuggly thing I've ever seen! EEEKKKK!!!
I did put in a request to see if they could line the canopy with either the pink with white dots or the critters, and hopefully they can...because I want it so bad! I also put in a request for a matching headrest and strap covers.

I think I can find the material and order it and have mom make a blanket cover for it as well... it would probably be cheaper that way.

I'm super excited! I love it so much!

Bump Picture

Can you say HUGE?!?!?! And I still have 21 weeks left, AHHHH!!!

Weekly Check-In: 19 Weeks

Stats:

How far along:
19 weeks
How big is baby: Mango (Yummy)

Vernix caseosa, a greasy white substance made of lanugo, oil and dead skin cells (yum) now coats baby's skin, shielding it from the amniotic fluid. (Picture yourself after a nine-month bath, and the need for protection makes sense.) You might actually get to see the vernix at birth, especially if baby is premature.

Total weight gain:
+8.5 pounds: Yep you read that right, I've only gained 1 pound in a month :)
Maternity clothes?
Yep!
Belly button in or out?
Starting to get shallow
Sleep:
Everyday changes. I rarely can sleep in though, even with Gabe does....it's like an automatic timers goes off and I'm awake for the rest of the day.
Best moment this week:
Finding out I have a daughter :) Things couldn't be more perfect...
Food cravings:
Biggest craving right now is milk. I drank a half gallon in about 2 hours the other day. YUMMY (I hate milk when I'm not pregnant, and rarely--if ever drink it)
Food aversions:
Carbonated drinks. The previous ones are slowly dissipating. Sometimes fried foods are yummy, sometimes they aren't, same goes with meat. I'm not huge on chocolate, BUT I've eaten a lot of ice drizzled in it :)
Symptoms:
I'm starting to feel pretty normal again. I guess any symptoms would be: growing belling, food aversions/cravings, movement, fatigue, and swelling. Oh and some days are better then others with hip pain, but that sciatica is pretty much gone.
Movement:
Slight movements every once in awhile...I mostly feel a pushing sensation like she is pushing again the wall of my abdomen trying to make room for herself... I also found out that my placenta is anterior, which is why I'm not really feeling any huge kicks, rolls, or punches just yet.
Gender:
ALL GIRL!!!!! :-)
What I'm looking forward to:
Making it to 20 weeks (half way point), then making it to v-day! It's so crazy it's only 5 weeks away!!!
What I miss:
Not feeling so fat, being able to sleep better, and not feeling so worn out and lazy.
Milestones:
Hearing her heartbeat, starting to feel movement, finding out it's a healthy, but shy little girl.
Next appointment:
January 16th @ 12:20pm---last appt. before the dreaded glucose test appt... blah.

Because I'm bored :)

So I'm curious and didn't do this with Gabe...I'm gonna go through all the OWT (old wives' tales) to see which ones actually matched up with Miss Kellie.

Old Wives Tale #4:  Heart Rate: Correct. Her lowest HR was 145bpm at the u/s (she was sleeping most of the time), otherwise she is normally 155-165bpm consistently.

Old Wives Tale #12:  Shape of Belly: Correct. With Gabe I carried all out front, couldn't even tell I was pregnant from behind, and he was always wayyyy down low. With Kellie, she is wayyyyy up high and I'm carrying her EVERYWHERE.
Old Wives Tale #13:  Ring Test: Never tried this one.
Old Wives Tale #14:  Shape of Mom’s Face: Correct--My face got much rounder. Right now I look like a fat blimp because my face is so "round" haha....
Old Wives Tale #15:  Key Test: I pick up the key from the bottom (although I didn't realize this could be an OWT) Correct.
Old Wives Tale #16:  Mayan Tale: My age (24) plus the year (2010)= even number, so correct!
Old Wives Tale #17:  Drano Test: Didn't have drano around the house, so didn't try this one.
Old Wives Tale #18:  Acne: I had acne with DS too, but this time it's gotten way worse. Correct.
Old Wives Tale #19:  Cravings: Correct. This little girl loves her fruits (and fruit by the foot)
Old Wives Tale #20:  Smell of Garlic: Well since I can't stand the smell of it....I didn't try eating a whole clove of it....
Old Wives Tale #21:  Ultrasound: It's a girl...no denying it! :-)
Old Wives Tale #22:  Skin under Left Eye: Correct. I just tried it haha...
Old Wives Tale #23:  Previous Kids: Gabe's first word was momma, so this one is correct!
Old Wives Tale #24:  Wooden Spoon, Scissors, and Pink Bows: Didn't try it.... sounds kinda weird!
Old Wives Tale #25:  History of Parent’s Kids: incorrect. If this was true I would have had a girl first then a boy... What's cool is with my mom and her mom they all had alternating sex of the baby. And always started with a girl. So maybe our last and final will be a boy!
Old Wives Tale #26:  Time of Conception: Correct. I'm not aggressive in bed at all, haha...
Old Wives Tale #27:  Legs: My legs I think are a little bigger...Not quite sure (I've alwas had thunder thighs) so I'm thinking this one is incorrect.
Old Wives Tale #28:  Moodiness and a Little Pecker: I am actually less moody then I was with my pregnancy with DS. But I'm still pretty darn moody. So it's correct for Kellie, not correct for Gabe.
Old Wives Tale #29:  Bread: Correct. I hate the ends of the bread.
Old Wives Tale #30:  Chinese Gender Chart: Says girl... so correct!
Old Wives Tale #31:  Mom’s Beauty: I think this is correct. At least I feel so much uglier...so I probably really look it too.
Old Wives Tale #32:  Dream of Sex of Baby: incorrect. With Gabe I only had boy dreams, with this one I only had girl dreams
Old Wives Tale #33:  Clumsy vs. Graceful: I guess the truth will play out during the winter season, but so far correct. I fell constantly with Gabe... haven't with this one yet.
Old Wives Tale #34:  Toddlers: Correct. Makes sense too, Gabe has been so clingy to me here recently.
Old Wives Tale #35:  Side You Most Rest On: Incorrect. I usually always prefer my left side, but I turn to my right every once in awhile.
Old Wives Tale #36:  Hands: Don't know. Never tried it.
Old Wives Tale #37:  Dad’s Weight Gain: kinda correct??? Everytime he puts a pound on, he sheds it just as fast.
Old Wives Tale #38:  Breast Test: Correct. My left breast is larger right now.
Old Wives Tale #39:  Necklace Over Hand: Didn't do it.
Old Wives Tale #40:  What Do You Think?: Correct...for both of my children. I guess I have really good mommy instincts.
Old Wives Tale #41:  Morning Sickness: Correct...again for both pregnancies. I never had an ounce of nausea or morning sickness with Gabe. I did, however, have it with this one. Ugh...
Old Wives Tale #42:  Areolae: Correct. They are the same color as before pregnancy :)
Old Wives Tale #43:  Protein: Correct. I'm craving anything BUT meat and cheese. Ick! I do, however, love milk again...like I did with Gabe.
old-wives-talesOld Wives Tale #44:  Feet: Correct. My feet have pretty much stayed the same, some days they feel so hot though.
Old Wives Tale #45:  Hair on Legs: incorrect. My hair on my legs is growing like weeds.
Old Wives Tale #46:  Hands are Dry: Incorrect. My hands are always dry.
Old Wives Tale #47:  Urine: Correct. It's been dull yellow for awhile now.
Old Wives Tale #48:  Nose: Correct. My nose looks the same.
Old Wives Tale #49:  Headaches: Correct. I actually haven't really had a headache since being pregnant.
Old Wives Tale #51:  Baby Names: Correct for both children. We only had Gabe's name picked out when we found out we were pregnant with him. Same with Kellie... if she were to be a boy it would have probably been Gabe #2 (haha, kidding...we would have chosen a name eventually)
***Also I did the Gender Prediction test...and it said Girl... so that was correct as well!

28: girl 4: boy.... So I guess they weren't tales this time after all! :-) haha, just kidding... I know there is no way to determine the sex of the baby just by this.

Introducing: Kellie Rain....

Her sweet little profile...
Pretty much the only time she would look straight at us... she always turned away.

Profile again...

Her cute little head profile...
Her rolling away... She didn't want any more pictures I guess... She's kinda shy :)
Her arms... she always had them by her head.. in the middle you can see her lips where she is covering her face.
That's right... ITS A GIRL!!!
Another picture of her girlie parts!
Her arm by her head...

Had our scan and....

We are having a healthy little girl! All OWT and both DH & I's intuitions thought girl so it was right!

My placenta is anterior, so that's why I'm having little to no movement...which relieved me because I was so worried it could have been something horrible.

When I can I'll post some pictures.

She was a very relaxed baby and kept her arms behind her head the entire time. But she didn't like having a front picture taken and would roll away from the wand. So we call her our nonchalant uncooperative little girl. The scan lasted about 1h45m so we could get all the measurements we needed.
She also weighs 9oz and was measuring 18w6d, so right on track.

Weekly Check-In: 18 Weeks

Stats:

How far along:
18 weeks
How big is baby: Sweet Potato
Your fetus has become amazingly mobile (at least compared to you), passing the hours yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking and swallowing. And, baby's finally big enough that you'll be able to feel those movements soon.

Total weight gain:
+7.5 pounds (I refuse to weigh myself at home--although I know I've gained some fluid already)
Maternity clothes?
Yep!
Belly button in or out?
Starting to get shallow
Sleep:
Everyday changes. I rarely can sleep in though, even with Gabe does....it's like an automatic timers goes off and I'm awake for the rest of the day.
Best moment this week:Will be Friday when I can see our little one for the FIRST time!!!
Food cravings:
Fruit by the Foot; McChickens; Oh and I tried these things called Taki's--its a very spicy mexican chip....amazing
Food aversions:
Chocolate, onions, fried foods, meat. Oh and carbonation. Yep, you read that right. Anything with carbonation not only makes me gag, but also gives me horrible stomachaches. Boooo....
Symptoms:
I'm starting to feel pretty normal again. I guess any symptoms would be: growing belling, food adversions/cravings, movement, fatigue, and swelling. Oh and somedays are better then others with hip pain, but that sciatica is pretty much gone.
Movement:
Yep! I've started getting some rolls and some kicks, but still not frequent. The other day it felt like s/he was using my cervix as a trampoline... What an odd feeling since Gabe never did that... this one must be pretty low.
Gender:
Thinking it's a girl, but trying not to get my hopes up!
What I'm looking forward to:
Our Anatomy Scan on FRIDAY!!!!! First and foremost knowing it's healthy, then knowing if its BLUE or PINK
What I miss:
Not feeling so fat, being able to sleep better, and not feeling so worn out and lazy.
Milestones:
Hearing the heartbeat, feeling movement, getting to 4 1/2 months.... this pregnancy is going so fast.
Next appointment:
Anatomy Scan is Friday @ 2pm; Next Dr. appt is Dec. 19@12:20pm

Gabriel: 19 Months Old!

Saying "chee" then smiling in front of the tree

  Age: 19 months

Weight/Length: 33lb/35in.

Size: 2t,3t & now some 4t... My big little boy!

Teeth: 14. He just got his two upper cuspids (aka vampire teeth) & the bottom two are about to pop through.

Sleeping: He's a champ when it comes to sleeping. He usually goes to bed around 11:15pm and wakes up around 11:00 am. At daycare he takes a 1 1/2 hour nap and on our days off he takes around a 3-4 hour nap.

Eating: He still loves his milk and prefers that to anything else. He's starting to get more picky and wanting more snacks vs. actual meals. What he likes some days he hates the next. But consistently he likes chili, spaghetti, mac 'n cheese, goldfish... and jello.

Movement:
Walking, running, crawling, climbing....NONSTOP movement!
Milestones: He is doing well verbally as well as following simple commands. If you ask him to go get his shoes to go bye bye he'll get them then climb onto your lap so you can put them on. Then he'll go get his coat and have you put it on then he'll stand by the door and wait. Sometimes he'll say bye bye, other's he'll say letsgo. Tonight I asked him to go sit on a present and say cheese. I wasn't expecting him to do so but he came around the corner sat on a present and tried to say cheese while making a funny face, then actually smiled for me. *See picture above* It's getting easier to deal with him, because before it was like taking care of a walking baby... but something clicked and it's progressively getting easier to treat him less like a baby and more like a child. He does still have times where he gets frustrated when he wants something but can't figure out how to tell us what it is...so he whines. But those are getting less frequent, thankfully...

Favorite Toys: Tigger. He never goes anywhere without Tigger--including to stores, the bathroom, bed, daycare, to eat... literally everywhere. See below---
Sleeping with Tigger

Dislikes: Getting something taken away from him. If he gets into trouble he usually will hit or scream at one of us...then throw a huge tantrum and make a huge production out of it. Quite annoying and humorous at the same time.

Words/sounds: He's made a lot of progress in the past month. I think he's picked up around 8 more words/phrases. Tonight he's been walking around saying cheeee (cheese) and smiling. He also started saying let's go (but it's kinda meshed together). When he loves something that he's eating he'll also just go MmmmMmmm over and over again.
Reading US a book...

Wordless Wednesday: 17 Week Bump

Holy Geez... it looks like I'm growing watermelons already!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Weekly Check-In: 17 Weeks

Stats:

How far along:
17 weeks
How big is baby: Onion
Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. The umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes are now topped by one-of-a-kind prints.

Total weight gain:
+7.5 pounds (I refuse to weigh myself at home--although I know I've gained some fluid already)
Maternity clothes?
Yep!
Belly button in or out?
In, but getting less deep
Sleep:
Actually getting better. Sciatica (or whatever the heck that was) doesn't really bother me too much right now. Not sure if it's because I'm getting used to it or it's not pinched. I also have been doing pelvic tilts per my OB, and that has made it help A LOT! I also don't wake up to pee anymore except when I wake up in the morning. The only thing that irritates me is if I wake up, then I'm awake....regardless if I want to go back to sleep or not, I just lay there and think...and think.... and then it's over.
Best moment this week:
Hitting single digits to finally see our wee one on the ultrasound. Getting some hard kicks finally.

Food cravings:
Biggest craving that I have on a daily basis and could if a whole 12 pack box of in less than 20 minutes: Fruit by the foot. Yep... weird I know... but I CAN'T get enough of the stuff! YUMMMMM!
Food aversions:
Chocolate, onions, fried foods, meat. Oh and carbonation. Yep, you read that right. Anything with carbonation not only makes me gag, but also gives me horrible stomachaches. Boooo....
Symptoms:
Sciatica (although it's getting better with the pelvic tilts my OB suggested), RLP, slight nausea with the food aversions I have, still have fatigue but it's getting better.
Movement:
Yep! I've started getting some rolls and some kicks, but still not frequent.
Gender:
Thinking it's a girl, but trying not to get my hopes up!
What I'm looking forward to:
Anatomy Scan by far. It's Dec. 16th at 2pm. But it'll be a secret until our family Christmas :-)... I'll be 18w2d
What I miss:
Being able to walk without constant pain.
Milestones:
4 months down; 5 months to go; feeling small kicks, listening to it's wonderful heartbeat.
Next appointment:
Anatomy Scan is Dec. 16th @2pm; Next Dr. appt is Dec. 19@12:20pm
