Y3W: Bye, Bye Hair!

So on Tuesday, I picked up Gabe from daycare after work and his head was SOAKED, from playing so hard and sweating. His head was so hot. I told Josh I was cutting his hair. Josh didn't like the idea so much. A haircut=looking like a big boy, and the first and only time he's had his hair cut I wished I hadn't because my baby was gone.

But this time was different. So in the highchair he went and off went his hair. It turned our really good actually. Josh, of course, doesn't like it because its too short and he looks like a... big boy now. I think he looks adorable with his new spiky hair do! :)

Before....
After!

After again... only not done..

Such a silly boy!

And for good measure, I'll throw another one in the mix!

Happy 1st Birthday Gabriel!

At 8:30a.m., a year ago, the Pitocin was started. And I was invincible. I wasn't scared of that pity little drug. Nope not me....

Little did I know, my doctor had set it to be doubled to the max a lot quicker then they do most patients. He did this because of my history with pre-eclampsia, and my blood pressure--although stable, had gotten quite high at some points. Gabe, though, was doing great.

This is where things get fuzzy; I do believe it was around 2:45p.m. (ish...) that I had asked for the nurse to help me to the bathroom. It seemed like she was taking forever, but I wasn't allowed to get outta bed without her in there, due to the pitocin. She came in to unhook everything and help me to the bathroom. I then said, "Nevermind, I think I just peed myself......noooo, wait. I think my water just broker. Noooooooo, I peed myself". She then checked and indeed my water did break.

I was so, so VERY excited that my water broke...It meant they wouldn't send me home, and until it did break it was a up and down if I would be sent home the next day, if the pitocin didn't work, to wait a week and try again. I had a huge fear that this would happen.

Then the contractions got strong and hard, and hurt horribly. I was miserable...did I mention that it hurt? I begged for pain meds, they gave me some fentanyl through the IV and check to see how far I was. At a 4 still but 100% effaced. Oh did I also mention my cervix/uterus is tilted and I stayed posterior throughout labor and delivery, so getting checked hurt worse then the contractions? Well it did....a lot. I would almost jump off the bed.

I caved and asked for an epidural. Josh said he wouldn't let me get it....and I threatened to kick him out of the room and go to the nurses station and ask for it myself. He kept telling me no. You wanna know why? Because the day before, on our way to the induction-I told him he better do everything in his power to not let me get an epidural. So he was doing as I asked. But I was naive... I was superwoman remember? Yeah, right.

I got the epidural about 5p.m. (I think, like I said it's kinda fuzzy) and they checked me right after. and I was at 6cm. I was pain free, and in heaven. My blood pressure was starting to raise though, so they kept putting me on my side, but then Gabe's heartrate would drop (not extremely low, but low enough) so I would move back to my back (which is completely opposite, because usually the heart rate drops when the mother is on her back). My thinking, I would rather have a stroke from high blood pressure, then something be wrong to Gabe from his heart rate dropping. So there I laid...

After the epidural...so much happier!
Us an hour after the epidural, and I was being nice again :)
Earlier the nurse has said after she checked me that she wouldn't check me anymore unless I said I felt pressure. Pressure? What's that suppose to feel like? They said I would know. So I waited and waited and waited some more. Finally at 7p.m. I was getting anxious and I told them I "felt" something different, although I didn't. It felt exactly the same... She said I was 10 & 100 and to do a few practice pushes. I did one, and she said to stop and called in the doctor. She said I was a great pusher. At 7:29pm Gabriel Kaige was born.

Nurse having me do some practice pushes...

Josh telling his mom he's gonna be born soon..

Gabriel enters the world!
Getting his APGAR's and sized up!
All cleaned off and bundled up!

Our new family!

First time holding Gabe...
I can't say that it was everything I hoped and wanted, mostly because I had some complications after delivery (see the pasty white ghost in the above picture). Long story short, I lost blood. A lot of blood. Luckily they got the bleeding to stop before I had to be taken to surgery. They used medical instruments that looked like they came from Mars. And because of that, I'm so glad I got the epidural. I leave the rest of the after stuff off of here, because frankly, it's not all that interesting...stitches and such.

Happy 1st Birthday Gabriel! We love you so very much! Oh and a collage from his pro pics he had this afternoon.

T minus 1 day...

As of right now, 10:30 a.m., I would have been 4 1/2 hours into my induction, a year ago.

We walked into that hospital last year on no sleep. We couldn't sleep. We couldn't stop talking. We were too excited. Too nervous. We had been waiting 9 long months, some okay and some not...

My pregnancy had been a rollercoaster. I had absolutely no morning sickness (thank goodness), maybe a bout of nausea, but that was it. Everything always looked good, until one fateful night I was 28 weeks pregnant. I was at work, and stressed to the max....and then I got dizzy, and almost passed out. I was sweating, my heart was racing, and my blood pressure was quite high (160/95); I called my boss, and Josh's boss had given him the okay to leave. We headed to the hospital. I cried... I cried so, so very hard and I called my mom. Something was wrong, I told her...

I got to L&D, and was monitored for a few hours, then allowed to go home once my blood pressure had subsided. The following Monday I saw my doctor. + for protein in my urine, I was diagnosed with pre-eclamsia and PIH.

I went the L&D 3 more times throughout my pregnancy. Twice at my own hospital, and Once at MU hospital-which was a overnight stay.

I fought hard to keep you in as long as possible, until I was induced at full term. I was on bedrest from March 13th to May 11th... 2 short days to complete 2 months.

Anyways, back to the induction. At 6 a.m. we had walked into L&D by 7:30a.m. all was well and the cytotec had been placed. I started having contractions by then, and they were coming full blown by 8:00a.m. I was happy. So incredibly happy. Yes, it hurt.... but it was working, and that's what we feared would not happen. I was having contractions on top of contractions, the nurse said we'd have a baby by the end of her shift (7 that evening). My face included a smile from ear to ear. This was going to be a lot easier then I thought. Then she gave me some Fentanyl, because my contractions were non stop and my uterus was pretty much quivering. A wonderful drug, yet I blame it for the the delay.

Before getting all prepared to start the induction

Yes....I was a bus, a whale...I was huge

Josh--acting like he was asleep...he wasn't :) he tried to though....

My contractions tapered off, so I got another round of Cytotec. Which did nothing. By 9p.m. that night... I wasn't having regular contractions. My doctor came in, and I was at a 4; 70% effaced. They gave me Ambien to put me to sleep. At 8 a.m. the next morning, we were on to Pitocin. I laughed at the doctor....and said "Bring it on, I'm super woman right now", needless did I know...

2 days....

2 days.... that's it.
48 hours, well if you really want to make it technical 66h15m until he breathed his first breath of life, a year ago.

Today we were nervous, scared, anxious, excited,  upon a multitude of many other things, a year ago.

Because tomorrow, a year ago....

was the process to begin your journey into the world.

We had to be at the hospital at 6 a.m. the next morning, and we were terrified of the things that could go wrong, yet thrilled to meet this little boy that would change our lives forever.

To Be Continued....

11 months old!

I can't believe that in one, ONE, short month our little Roo will be a year old. A toddler. It's crazy. So much has changed in a mere month. He currently wears 24m-2t shirts, 12-18m pants, 18-24m shorts, and 5 1/2-6 shoes. He's almost out of size 5 diapers even though they say "More than 27lb" and size 6 diapers are "More than 35lb"... his little butt cheeks fall out of them all the time.

We went to change him into PJ's and this is what we found... a little butt cheek
I may go ahead and buy a small pack of size 6 diapers, and see how they fit, if they are huge on him, at least I will be able to save them until he can fit into them.

He only eats puree's (stage 3) if I don't think he's had enough nutrition that day. Example: some days he hates touches wet foods, other's he doesn't mind. So if he didn't eat well that day, he gets purees. Also I sometimes give him either his snack or puree's before he goes to bed (after we get off work) because we are trying to wean him off of drinking bottles in bed, or at least drinking milk in bed. So far, it hasn't worked. Why you ask? Because if he doesn't see that the bottle is WHITE then he won't take it at bedtime. And he won't fall asleep without a bottle. The water bottle didn't work a bit. He throws it, and screams for it...but with milk in it. I finally gave up after fighting for 2 hours. But I'm keeping a good eye on his teeth, just to make sure. His favorite foods are cheese ravioli and mac and cheese. He hates meat! Loves peas, corn, and now he'll eat carrots. He also loves sweet potatoes. Favorite diced fruit is mangoes, but he also loves peaches and pears. Yes, he eats all that like a big boy! :)

Eating some Mac 'n Cheese

He crawls EVERYWHERE, and is as fast as a can be! He has taken a few steps, but since then nothing. He refuses to "walk" between Josh & I now. But he will walk with his dino. I think he has my mentality, crawling is faster and seems easier....so why not crawl?

On the Move

He babbles, screams (good scream not bad...for the most part), and says dada... He is sorta learning to wave bye bye, but has only done it on command twice.

He HATES sleeping anywhere else besides his own bed. He won't sleep or cuddle with me, Josh, or even in a pack-n-play...its a battle. And when he wakes up, he knocks on the wall by his crib, I guess to tell us he's done with his nap...although we hear him "talking" to his stuffed animals. Usually we let him talk until he knocks though... and when we walk in its ALL smiles.

He loves shoes, but hates wearing them...I think. I know he loves shoes, he plays with them more than his own toys, it's just a toss up if he likes them on his own feet.

And anything that is NOT a toy or could potentially be dangerous...he wants and throws a tantrum to try to get it.

Tantrum begins

Temper part of the Tantrum

He's an amazing son...perfect our my eyes. I can't imagine what our life was like before him, although if I could... I wouldn't change it for the world. He's our everything. Our happy 11 month old little boy.

10 Months....Say it isn't so

As of 7:29 p.m. Central time which was approximately 4 hours and 11 minutes ago our baby turned exactly 10 months old. My little (big) Roo. How can this be? It seems as only yesterday, I pushed him out of my body and gave him life. His birth wasn't the best, actually it was quite scary at the end. And all I cared about was him. And getting enough pictures of him. In that moment, it was never again going to be about me. He forever changed my world, and I'm so grateful for that. In that moment, I became a mother. I try to do above and beyond for him, as my mother did for me. And I hope to one day think that I am at least a fourth or half of the mother to Gabriel as she is to me.

As for Gabriel, he's on the move...and never stops. He has learned to say yeah, which sounds more like "aaahh". He uses this word when I tell him no. It's a very frustrating word, probably as frustrating as no. Usually it goes something like this "Roo...no" and he turns around to look at me, plops on his butt and says "aahh" and turns back around to go directly for whatever he knows is untouchable for him. I then say "Gabe, no!" and he then again does the exact same thing. Then I say "Gabriel Kaige you better stop right there" and he turns, plops, and "aahh's" me...then giggles, smiles and turns back around to grab, throw, chew, or break whatever it is that was suppose to be untouchable. Yes, our living room is baby proofed. But it doesn't mean that we are still new the the fact that he is utterly and completely mobile. So when a game, remote, or anything that doesn't have bright colors, light up, or sing/talk to him...is now what he wants. Does that make any sense? How do the dull, black, non toy things catch a baby, soon-to-be toddler's eyes? Well probably because I have introduced the word no when taking them away...so now they are things he longs to have in his possession. Just great.

Not only is he crawling up a storm, he is standing and pulling himself up on everything. The couch is the main thing, because he also likes to teeth (knawling) on it while pulling himself up. His toy box is the second favorite, because he often has to open and pulls all the toys out--then crawls for the remote when we aren't looking. The others--baby gate, laundry basket, tv stand, dining room chair, and Josh's game chair--which also toppled over beside him (not on top). I was pretty proud of myself for keeping him alive and well (for the most part...not including croup, rsv, and pneumonia) for these past 10 months. I'm starting to wonder if he'll make it to be one, especially since he seems to be a dare devil like I was when I was a kid.

He still hates having a diaper on and will toss and turn, crawl away to get away from getting a new one on. I'm pretty excited for this, as that is a "sign" that hopefully he'll be easy to potty train. Afterall that will be starting around September/October. He is now on half & half (half whole milk, half formula) and will soon be going to completely whole milk as soon as our formula supply dwindles down. Which hey, that saves us $120.00 a pay check :) ....sounds great to me. He still loves puree's and eats about 6- 4oz containers a day, 3-4 (sometimes, yet rarely 4) 8 ounces bottles a day, and snacks on puffs, yogurt melts, diced apples, bananas, and sometimes strawberries throughout the day and sometimes before bed. He wears a 18 month t-shirt, 24 month onesie, and 12 month pants. His torso is so long, and he's got short stubby, chunky legs. He hates to change his clothes, and would rather wear pj's all day. I mean he literally screams his head off in protest. His new favorite thing to do is take showers instead of a bath, which is safer now since he also pulls himself up in the bathtub then slips. Favorite word: dada, and yes it annoys me since I'm now called dada. What happened to mama? He wakes up around 10am but "play" and "talks" to his buddies in his crib for a solid hour before protesting to eat breakfast at 11am. His buddies include: a puppy dog, his Chief's monkey from Build a Bear, a moose, and mickey mouse.

He now has 6 teeth (although the 6th one isn't completely broken through) and loves chomping food, toys, noses (yes I mean your sniffer), among other things. He officially has seperation anxiety, and often makes my heart break when we drop him off at daycare and tears and streaming down his face. It's recently gotten better though. He also has developed stranger anxiety, and will apply a death grip onto me or Josh if he thinks that someone may try to take him away from us. We went to Josh's uncles house and recently found out he is scared to death of people with beards, as we had a panic attack when Josh's uncle held him. Which is all normal for a baby his age, and I'm kinda glad that he does fear strangers, since I apparently didn't when I was a child. He got is first boo-boo after nose diving off his stride and ride dino to catch me before I left the area. Two abrasions to his nose, and a red mark on his forehead that quickly went away. The abrasions, are still there...poor guy. I do believe he is going to be a dare devil like his momma.

All and all, we have a pretty amazing baby on our hands, in our hearts, and through our eyes. Yeah, yeah you may here my moan and groan about how irritating some things can be, but I wouldn't change it for the world. And when he kisses me and hold his mouth to my lips for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, all the while smiling and laughing... those irritating things are thrown out the window. By far the best part of this month, is wanting to be cuddled to fall asleep again. No more Mr. Independent I'll put myself to bed thank you very much baby. He will cry and scream for an hour if you left him in his crib and let him. I don't mind a bit, I love the snuggles after work. It makes me smile just thinking about it. 61 days. Then he'll be a toddler. Slow down, time your moving way to fast.

He's mobile....

Things have changed so much in the last few weeks. Your now pulling yourself up and standing on your own. You love walking, with help, from the living room to the bathroom to take a bath. You smile, screech, and scream with excitement when you reach the bathroom. And you've finally began crawling EVERYWHERE. We've baby-proofed, well we still need to do a few things, the living room. And unless your in our arms, that's the room you'll remain confined to until you know what you can and cannot eat, drink, and otherwise put in your precious little mouth that may harm you in any way. Trust me its a good idea.... you often laugh or ignore me all together when I holler your name as you get into something you shouldn't, or grab a hold of something you shouldn't...

Ahhh well, the joys of having a mobile child have begun.

And I leave you with some ubber cute pictures of Mr. Roo (as well call him), Moose (as Grandma calls him), Gabriel (to the rest of the world)....

Sleeping so soundly....he's so sweet...

Laughing at mommy...

Ummm....HELLO??? Can you say complete cuteness with his 5 teeth.

He absolutely loves his stride 'n ride dino...

9 months, E.R. visit, and some other random thoughts...

You turned 9 months old this month Gabriel. 3/4 a year. Just a little bit longer, a measly 3 months (less now) and you'll be a toddler. No longer a baby. Of course, since you were about 6 months old it seems like you've been a toddler :) Your independent personality sticks you in there with them, along with your size, and how backwards you like to do things. On Valentine's day you went in for your 9 month check-up: Doctor said your right on track, your doing great, we can even start weening you onto whole milk... we are super excited. Your weight has decreased a bit you now way 25lb 13oz and are 30 3/4 inches long. You are in the 90-95th percentile for weight and above the 95th percentile for height. Your our amazing, growing boy. If it were up to you, you would skip crawling all together, but we are pushing you to try. You pulled yourself up to standing before you could even get into a sitting position by yourself. (Now you can do that though :) ). You've even stood a few times not holding on to anything while we just stare at you like "uh what the heck just happened?" You'll walk with us holding your hands, but get a little nervous if you are only holding one hand. You love to wrestle with your toys. You have 6 teeth now?!?!?! Hopefully we are done for a month or two :), you don't do well teething. Your a great sleeper, eater, talker, and player, but teething is not your thing. You've recently begun to try saying daddy now in the form of "deedee deedee" really fast which is quite amazingly cute.  When you don't want to be put don't you pull up your legs as far as you can get them, and just shriek and laugh. You fight with everything you have when something doesn't go your way, and I'm afraid you may have gotten that from me. Your an amazing 9 month old, the mere end of your infancy into toddlerhood. I'm excited and nervous and well, down right scared at the things that are to come, but I'm ready...I think.

February 19th your daddy picked you up from daycare, and noticed you were wheezing. He called me immediately, I was suppose to work a double shift that night. I told him to give you a warm bath with some vapor bath wash, and to call back if it didn't help...which it didn't. I called for a replacement nurse and came home to take you in to the ER. I was scared, I was crying...I was unsure of the unknown. I was freaking out, probably a little too much. But my nursing skills don't coincide with my mothering skills. I forget everything nursing (well not everything, but you get my drift) and go into complete mommy mode. My heart sank as I restrained you for the nasal suctioning, the chest x-ray, and the rocephin shot. I think the worst was the shot. They were trying to be nice and use a smaller gauge for your chunky little legs, but that caused them to have to push it harder, which in turn took longer. And 4cc of rocephin in a chunky little leg through a small bore needle is going to hurt no matter how much lidocaine they added to it.You got the rocephin shot maybe 5 minutes after I got you to fall asleep around 2am. The RSV test came back positive, along with the chest x-ray showing pneumonia in your lower left lobe. You's a sickly baby my dear. I hate when your sick, I'm sure every mother hates when their child is sick. But geesh, the past 5 months have gone like this :teething, croup, teething, teething, pneumonia, rsv, teething....its not been fun. And yes, teething is up there with him being sick. So anyways, back to your sickly self. You got a script for Zithromax, Albuterol Nebulizer treatments (which are made exclusively by the devil, just so you know) and discharge papers, thankfully.

Tonight, well like I said albuterol nebulizer treatments were made exclusively by the devil, you have been a terror. I cute terror, but a terror none the less. You screamed in my ear, clawed and pinched my face, and pulled my hair. I got you asleep finally at 12:15am, cuddled up in your moose blanket laying on my chest while I was sitting in bed singing whatever came to my mind at the time, because if I didn't...well I probably would have pulled my own hair out. But now, you are sleeping like the angel that I know you are...and I hope you wake up feeling much better then today, since you'll have a few notches of antibiotics under your belt.

I love you Roo....

Gabe learns to kiss...

Unfortunately, its a small clip (and sideways, at that) but Gabe "kisses" now :). It's so precious when he does it. He giggles when he kisses his daddy on the lips, and smiles when he kisses me. He was so tired though this morning that only one kiss to Scout would do. Its a bunch of cuteness all the same.

I also have on my phone where he and daddy are having a growling match. Yes, he growls...and its ubber cute too. So as soon as I can get it up I will get it on here. Until next time!

Gabe eats a cookie...

So for the first time, after eating his "supper" of mixed veggies with whole grains, I let him have a treat. A cookie. A chocolate chip cookie.
"What the heck is THIS mama?"

"Maybe I should examine it first..."

"Okay a little taste test..."

"Mama, whatever this is...I need one every night"

"It's soooo yummy...it makes me extra happy!"

"You are the bestest mommy in the world!"

"I'm serious, mommy you are...if you give me one every night"

"All done...now what about a bath..."

A questionnaire....

1. Were you married at the time? I don’t like this question…. Technically we both were, but were going through divorces at the time.

2. What was your reaction when you found out you were pregnant? Shock, disbelief, worried, scared, and excited soon after.

3. How old were you? I was 23 both when we found out and when he was born.

4. How did you find out you were pregnant? I was at home, Josh was on light duty so he was just walking into work when I called him at 8 am on Monday, October 5, 2009. I, had no clue what I was going to do and was hoping he would tell me. He was in complete shocked and told me he was going to have to call me back. When he had hung up, I lost it. I cried and cried, unsure if I was going to be doing this alone, what my mom was going to think and how pissed she was going to be at me… I called the doctor, and got an appointment to “confirm” what the home test had already told me…but hell, I was thinking it was all a big joke at this point. Josh went with me to the doctors, I peed in a cup….a minute later the doctor comes in and says, “your really really pregnant”, I sigh and say… “What do you mean I’m really, really pregnant?” She then stated that it immediately came back with a very positive. I then got prescribed prenatals, and also got a HCG level done because I wasn’t really sure when my last menses was. We then started driving to walmart, Josh called his family….they were beyond excited. I was scared shitless to call mine, so I waited. I filled my prenatal script, and Josh went back to work… We both kept thinking, “Holy Shit”…. Later that night we were in love with the thought of being parents…

5. Who did you tell first? I told Josh, then he called his family after the doctor’s office confirmed it, then I told my family a few days later.

6. Did you want to find out the sex? Yes….And we did at 17w1d….A beautiful, amazing, wonderful baby boy

7. Due date? Haha, I honestly don’t remember now… and it’s only been 8 months.

8. Did you deliver early or late? Early. I was having some pre-eclampsia/blood pressure problems…so as soon as he was done cooking, I was induced. Thankfully too, because they said if I would have gone full-term or past due like normal first pregnancies, he would have been 10.5-11lbs…ugh ouch       !

9. Did you have morning sickness? Nope. I got a bit nauseous here and there with certain smells…but other than that, no.

10. What did you crave? 1st trimester: Fruit & Salads 2nd trimester: Fruit, salads, chocolate 3rd trimester: MEXICAN…I ate it pretty much every other day
J

11. What irritated you the most? Pretty much anything and everything. I was pretty moody.

12. What was your first child’s sex? Boy

13. How many pounds did you gain throughout the pregnancy? 50 lb total, but I was doing really good until I started gaining 4-5 lb of fluid every few weeks….

14. Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? Yep. Spotting at 14 weeks, Bedrest from March 13th until May 11th….pre-eclampsia/PIH/i.e. bad high blood pressure.

15. Where did you give birth? Western Missouri Medical Center

16. How many hours were you in labor? Induction started May 10th at 6am…. And started in active labor about 30 minutes after cytotec was inserted…gave birth at 7:29pm on May 11….so around 36 hours….

17. Who drove you to the hospital?
Josh

18 . Did you take medicine to ease the pain? Oh yes….I think I would have died without it. I did pretty good the first day, but Pitocin is a bitch, plain and simple. I got an epidural after my water broke and I couldn’t take it much more, I turned pretty much into the devil himself.
J And with what they to me after he was born to stop the bleeding, I am so so glad I got it because yeah….I think it probably would have felt worse than labor.

8 Months Old...

Where does the time go? One minute I'm birthing a baby, next he's pulling himself up and standing... Where did my little boy go? Once he liked to snuggle, now he mostly puts himself to sleep.

In eight short months Gabriel has changed from a teeny, tiny baby that scared the shit out of me... to a crazy, wild child that makes me crack up laughing with the silly things he does. He's fearless, independent, and loves to explore. But he does have his mommy & daddy moments.

Tonight, thankfully, he had one of them. He wanted to be cuddled while eating a bottle. I usually watch T.V. until he falls asleep, but not tonight. He laid there gently stroking my face and staring at me. He'd smile when I'd kiss his palm, and put his hand back to my lips as if asking me to do it again and again. He eventually started rubbing his own eyes, a Que to put him to bed, and the moment was over. I cherish these moments. They are my favorite.

So at 8 months old, Gabriel still only can say mama (pretty excited about it too)....but I'm sure he'll pick up--hell he's only 8 months old. He rolls, army crawls, sits, and pulls himself to a standing position. He can't crawl, nor get to a sitting position on his own...but all in due time. He's got 3 teeth (4,5,6 can be seen but not completely broken through the gums--give it another week or so), and thinks its funny when you say ouch after he chomps down on your finger. He laughs when the dog plays fetch, when someone says WEEEEEEE or BOOOOO... He loves to swing and we take him to the park when it's not freezing outside. He also loves stroller rides and will laugh at every dog that barks at him. Favorite Foods---pineapple & pears, hawaiian delight, pumpkin apple; spegetti, mainly any veggie, but carrots. He's started on stage 3 foods, but its slow moving....he hasn't gotten the grasp that there are chunks of noodles and such in them just yet. He loves playing, but has his momma's attention span and gets bored quickly. :) He is spoiled rotten....and I don't mind a bit. I don't know his height or weight, I'll get that tomorrow just for the hell of it.

Things we're looking forward to in the next year:
1st birthday, walking (he's heavy what can I say), more words, starting potty training at the end of the year, somewhere around october/november-ish (the sooner the better), first float trip :)....

Being Gabe's mom is amazing. And I'm super excited for the upcoming months and everything they will hold.

Teething...

It couldn't have been created by God, this has to be the makings of the devil for sure.

Gabe can handle bumping his head, falling down, or getting food in his eyes...hell, I think he's even better with shot, but teething, well thats a different story. He doesn't handle it well at all. As a matter of fact, he sucks at it.

December 15th, his first too came through...December 21st, his second...and last night number 3 & 4 popped through...and now number 5 & 6 want to come in as well. I'm thinking that it would be less traumatic if they would all just come through at once instead of one...at.a.freaking.time!
Teeth # 1 & 2

You can't really tell cause of the flash but you can see the bumps of the 4
(The two middle ones haven't popped through, but the ones to each side has)
These suckers have made my fun, amazing baby turn into a demon child. He doesn't handle it well. Last night he finally fell asleep around 2 am after fighting both Josh & I. Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Orajel, Teething tablets had absolutely no effect on him whatsoever. I finally said, thats it....we are going for a drive. And after 30 minutes he was out. Then up again at 4 then again at 9.... Can you tell I don't handle teething well either? It's completely messing up our sleeping schedule.
