37 Week Comparison of Gabriel vs. Kellie (Bump)

Holy Baby Bump....and Josh doesn't think I've gotten much bigger than I did with Gabe. Ummm??? Yeah okay...

Weekly Check-In: 37 Weeks/Full Term!

Stats:
How far along:
37 weeks

How big is baby: Watermelon
Around 37 weeks, many moms-to-be find themselves organizing cupboards and scrubbing their floors. That’s the nesting instinct kicking in as your body senses baby will be here shortly.

Total weight gain:
+28 pounds
Yeah....8 lb weight gain in one week.. how awesome is that???

Maternity clothes?
Yes and no...I wear what fits pretty much...

Belly button in or out?
I seriously thought it couldn't stick out anymore, but it continues to surprise me. And it hurts like hell.

Sleep:
Ugh... Sleep is so overrated. I'm over it.

Best moment this week:
Hmmm...That's a good question. It's been one hell of a week. I guess finding out that I'm progressing and that baby will be here sooner rather than later! *More on this to come*

Food Cravings:
Anything that goes in my mouth...

Food Aversions:
None at this point

Symptoms:
Insomnia, lower back and hip pain (to the point where I can't walk in the morning), crazy dreams, hemorrhoids, and all the other usuals. Heartburn is back with a vengeance...even taking zantac twice a day--I'm still having to pop tums..boo.. but hopefully that means she has just as much or MORE hair then our Gabriel did. :-) She has hiccups all.the.time!!!! Also having contractions...

Movement:
I feel every.single.movement. I seriously felt her breathing the other day. Her back is right up against my hip and lower left abdomen. I woke up and had my hand right there and I could feel it going up and down like breathing...I'm not crazy, promise.

Gender:
Miss Kellie Rain
What I'm looking forward to:
Being a family of 4, of course, BUT....I really want to not be pregnant anymore---I'm in the IM DONE phase.

What I miss:
Sleep, Energy, Fitting into clothes, Getting on the floor to play with Gabe...

Milestones:
WHOOT WHOOT!!!! FULL TERM!!!!

Weekly Check-In: 36 Weeks?!?!/9 MONTHS?!?!?!?!

Stats:
How far along:
36 weeks

How big is baby: Coconut
Baby is getting closer and closer to being able to breathe on her own.

Total weight gain:
+22 pounds
I lost 4 1/2 pounds in two weeks; yay! haha, makes this momma happy!

Maternity clothes?
Yep, but even these aren't fitting much anymore. I even had a former twin mom say that I'm bigger then when she was when she was pregnant with twins--- I was like uhh?? Thanks?? I guess....

Belly button in or out?
It's definitely out... and now it's out EVEN MORE. It's sooo sensitive.
Sleep:
Ugh... Sleep is so overrated. I'm over it.

Best moment this week:
Doc says I'm allowed to go into labor now :-) Not like I would be that lucky, but hey always a chance right?!?!? I'm 3-4cm dilated (I say 3-4 because my doctor has rather large fingers as said I was at a 3; With Gabe he said the same thing--but when I was checked by other doctor's they said a 4, and their fingers were "normal"??? lol) BUT only 10-20% effaced. He said my cervix feels really floppy and soft which is a good thing--just needs to thin out. It's also VERY posterior, which I tried explaining that with Gabe it never came down into an anterior position because of my tilted uterus, but he didn't believe me. Eghhh---sigh. OH well. Next check is in one week!

Food Cravings:
Oh things have gone crazy with my cravings/aversions. I literally HAVE to have a Dr. Pepper at LEAST once a day. Yep, the one aversion that has lasted 9 months has turned into my biggest craving right now.  Crazy right?!?! The other craving was some hot wings--and boy were those good.

Food Aversions:
Nothing really?? Fried foods don't sound good...so I'll go with that.

Also started having BH contractions...and some real ones too.

Movement:
She's started slowing down on movements. But when she moves my whole belly wibbles and wobbles. And each knee, foot, whatever it is that jabs my belly hurts like crazy!

Gender:
Miss Kellie Rain
What I'm looking forward to:
Being a family of 4. Gabe has FINALLY started saying baby-- so I can't wait until he sees the baby and puts into place that it'll be his new sister.

What I miss:
Sleep, Energy, Fitting into clothes....

Milestones:
WHOOT WHOOT!!!! 9 MONTHS PREGNANT!!!!

Next appointment:
April 23rd at 2pm!!! :-)

Gabriel: 23 Months!

Okay so I guess I'm horrible when it comes to a monthly update on Gabe. I just never know what to say!

I can't believe today he is one month shy of his 2nd birthday! Where has this time gone? Where is the little baby we brought back from the hospital???

I posed this question to Josh and his response...life. Doctors appts, working overtime, working period--just life. It makes me so sad--wondering what we most likely missed. We did see all of his "firsts", but now he's having a word explosion--it's like where did THAT come from?? I would list his words--but I don't even know if I could name them all.

Here is a list of the most used words/phrases:
no, hi, bye, daddy, hello, shoes, dona (sedona--my mom's dog), see you later, oh dear, oh boy, baby, godoe (Mickey mouse), love you, tigger, jump, beep, choo choo, wowee, juice, cheese, tickle, wiggle, bang, what's that, there it is, boo, uh oh...

Like I said--there are more, but off the top of my head, those are the ones he uses most. Notice how there isn't a mommy one?? Yeah he just whines when he wants me...never really says mommy a whole lot--although he does say it on occasion--when I'm not around.

Oh and the boy counts to 5 now. Yes....5. I'm not sure how or where he learned it but he can count to 5. And not just saying the words--but actually picking things up and counting them as he does so...

He also knows his ears, eyes, nose--and will point and say them.

I'm not sure how tall he is or how much he weighs--that will come next month. At his 21 month check up he was 36 1/2 inches tall and 34 1/2 pounds. So I'm guessing he's about 38 1/2 inches and 36 1/2 pounds??? He feels sooo much heavier than that though! He is already in a size 10 shoe, which seems quite ridiculous! He's got some huge feet. He wears 3t pants and 4t shirts--which also seems ridiculous, since he's not even two yet and by clothing measurements should still be in 18-24 month clothing.

He is super nice and will share his toys with anyone and waits patiently to take turns. He loves riding rocking horses, and currently is in the stage of what we do he wants to do. He mows the lawn with his lawn mower when Josh mows--he LOVES to help me cook. He's really a great kid.

When it comes to discipline--it really depends on the day of what will work. Usually, just getting a stern voice does well or counting up to 3..he never gets past 2, which is good because I'm not sure what we would do if he got to 3 lol... We've also put him in timeout for 2 minutes, but that's horrible for him--so it's only when he really isn't following instruction well. A few times we've had to swat his butt--and that's when he's decided running out into the road is a great idea. And funny thing is--it doesn't really phase him. So we never resort to it. I also usually kept a smartie candy in my pocket for grocery time and such... makes life a lot easier.

He sleeps from 11:30pm to 10:30am (sometimes later)...and ALWAYS has to have tigger, scout, and now his turtle that glows with him in bed--plus his favortie blankie.

Tigger goes with him every where. And I mean everywhere....the bath, daycare, bed, the store--everywhere.

Here are a few pictures of him acting silly--as usual:

"Cheese"

He's being one with the truck...

Weekly Check-In: 35 Weeks!

Stats:
How far along:
35 weeks

How big is baby: Butternut Squash
You’ve reached 35 weeks, and your uterus has grown about 1,000 times its original size, a number that might sound exaggerated to everyone else -- but to you it probably feels more like a million.

Total weight gain:
+26.5 pounds (Yes that was a 4lb increase--but really only 1 pound since I lost right??)

Maternity clothes?
Yep!

Belly button in or out?
OUT and it hurts... I seem to catch it on almost everything!

Sleep:
I seriously don't want to talk about it. I swear I'll get more sleep when she comes (unless she wakes up every 15-30minutes) then I have for the past month or so... Yeah I'm a bit bitter.

Best moment this week:
Reaching the milestone 35/35. I like saying I only have 35 days left until I'm due. 5 weeks sounds soooo long, but 35 days sounds soooo short! Oh and baby girl has dropped. Alot. Her head currently grinds into my pelvic bone, and I can breath a bit again. Yay!!! Hopefully this means her debute will be when everyone is predicting (April 21-25th)

Food Cravings:
Fruit. You should see the fridge. It's got tons of fruit in it. Strawberries, kiwi, cantalope, honeydew, I'm gonna start getting some pineapple here soon!

Food Aversions:
Carbonated beverages. Although I had a few sips of Josh's Mt. Dew this week and didn't really have a problem. I actual CRAVE soda, but am afraid to drink it because it's been so long--and the last time I really drank it, it made me sickly...

Also started having BH contractions...and some real ones too.

What I'm looking forward to:
Being a family of 4. Gabe has FINALLY started saying baby-- so I can't wait until he sees the baby and puts into place that it'll be his new sister.

What I miss:
Sleep, Energy, Fitting into clothes....

Milestones:
2 weeks until I am full term *which is when I gave birth to Gabe* I'm 35/35 today, meaning I'm 35 weeks with ONLY 35 days left.

Next appointment:
April 16th @ 10:50am!!! :-)

Weekly Check-In: 34 Weeks!!

Stats:
How far along:
34 weeks

How big is baby: Durian Fruit
At 34 weeks, you might breathe a little easier, since baby may descend lower into your pelvis and give your lungs some space. (Ahh!) The pitfall of this descent, of course, is even more pressure on your bladder, so be prepared to make even more trips to the ladies room over the coming weeks.

A tiny preview of baby girls head and femur--she is head down. *More on this in a bit*
Food Cravings:
Strawberries & Pumpkin Seeds...
Food Aversions:
Carbonated beverages.
Also started having BH contractions...and some real ones too.
Movement:
She's my strong crazy girl. She usually keeps my belly looking all crazy and lopsided. She loves curling into the left side, but I don't get much kicks anymore because she's SOOOO BIG. So I usually just see her movements and feel her rolling moving legs and arms. She has TONS of hiccups, which Gabe had a lot of them too. I don't remember Gabe's being sooo powerful, because hers hurt sometimes.

Gender:
Miss Kellie Rain
What I'm looking forward to:
Gabe's reaction to his sister. He loves babies, and I think he knows one is coming soon.  *More on this too in a bit*

What I miss:
Sleep, Energy, Fitting into clothes....

Milestones:
3 weeks until Full Term! Ack!!!! 6 weeks until EDD!!!
Next appointment:
April 16th @ 10:50am!!! :-)

Okay, so the ultrasound. It was kinda an undercover mission. You see I went to my last appt (April 2nd) and my fundal height measured 39 weeks! YES...you read that right! 5 weeks ahead of what it's suppose to read. I asked Doc if he would do an ultrasound (I really don't want to be the next news story wth a 14lb baby) and he said it wasn't necessary--it could just be how she is positioned. This annoyed me since you are suppose to check the baby's weight/measurements/fluid level  if you are +/- 2 or more weeks. I've been consistently measuring a few weeks ahead and then a couple of months ago I measured 5 weeks ahead--then the last 3 appts. I've been measuring 3 weeks ahead--until last appt. I measured 5 weeks ahead again. Doc says it could just be how baby is positioned... but still really?!?! So anyways....I go into the ER (to work) that day, a few of my co-workers ask when I'm due. I tell them 6 1/2 weeks (which is was at the time) and that my fundal height measured 39 weeks (blah blah blah about not getting an ultrasound--yeah I was frustrated). So one of the nurses calls the hospital Doc who does the ultrasounds--asks if he'll take a peek, and voila...got to see a few glimpses of the baby. Only her head, which is wedged deep into my pelvis, and one of her legs. Her legs are actually measuring behind--but so did Gabe's because well--they are being graced with my short sausage legs.
Also, the past couple of nights Gabe hasn't wanted to just go to bed. I don't know if he knows that it's like SOOON--or if he knows it may be sooner than SOOOOON... but he wants to lay in bed with us for a good hour--just snuggling, giggling, and cuddling some more. If it's going to be sooner than SOOOON I would prefer she waits at LEAST 2 weeks--if not 3. After 3 she is allowed to come at anytime (besides on Gabe's birthday). If she wants to make an appearance early--then no earlier then 2 weeks...
